Boat Detailing - washing & waxing.

I recommend that you wash your boat once a week. This will ensure your boat’s finish, and keep it from tarnishing.  Damage can be done to your boat by animal droppings, salt, acid rain, dirt and the usage of the boat. Your boat is made of several different types of material such as fiberglass, wood, canvas, glass and metal. This means that cleaning your boat requires that you pay attention to cleaning these specific materials. Different cleaners and cleansers are available for all types of materials, be sure to check your local boat detailing supplies store.

As for waxing the boat, it’s important because it maintains the look and value of your boat. I will write a complete how-to guide, at a later stage, showing the steps taken to gain the maximum result of your boat detailing effords.

There are a number of different types of paste wax available on the market, but one thing most of them have in common, is the advice from the producers to apply two layers. I would personally use a natural wax instead of a chemical one; this seems to preserve the finish of my boat best.
